About the Trip

This exclusive trip has been custom-designed for the Binghamton University Women’s Soccer team, offering a perfect blend of competitive play, cultural immersion, and leisure. Throughout the journey, the team will explore the rich history, vibrant energy, and scenic beauty of Italy—from iconic cities to charming seaside destinations. The itinerary includes guided city tours, cultural excursions to historic landmarks and team bonding activities.

Trip Itinerary

March 28 - Travel Day

Depart JFK Airport for Rome, Italy on a direct evening flight. Don’t forget your passport.

March 29 - Arrival Day

8:05 am - Group B arrives at FCO Airport (ActivSport Trip leaders will meet them). Depart by bus to Florence/Tuscany

12:45 pm - Group A arrives at FCO Airport (ActivSport Trip leaders will meet them). Depart by bus to Florence/Tuscany

1:00 pm (est): Group B arrives near the hotel, time for lunch, then check into hotel to relax and clean up.

6:00 pm (est): Group A arrives to the hotel, check in & clean up before dinner.

7:30 - Dinner then evening to rest and relax

March 30 - Florence City Tour & Friendly Match #1

Start the day with a relaxing guided bike tour to see the best sites Florence has to offer in just a few hours including Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore which features Brunelleschi’s Famous Dome and Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge).

After the tour, we will have lunch, then free time for exploration.

In the evening, we will have a friendly match #1 vs local Italian team.

March 31 - Italian Countryside, Orvieto, Rome

Morning to sleep in, relax, etc. Depart around 10:00 am to leave Tuscany and travel south through some of Italy’s beautiful countryside. Stopping along the way at the beautiful hilltop City of Orvieto, known for its rich history, remarkable architecture and more. Visit Orvieto, with free time for lunch, then continue our journey to Rome arriving in late afternoon. Check in to hotel, evening training session.

April 1 - Colosseum & Roman Forum & Friendly Match #2

We will start our day on a guided tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum to delve into the heart of ancient Rome's grandeur and history. Led by knowledgeable local guides, you'll explore the awe-inspiring Colosseum, learning about its gladiatorial spectacles and architectural ingenuity, before wandering through the ruins of the Roman Forum, where you'll unravel the political, social, and religious life of ancient Romans amidst the remains of temples, basilicas, and government buildings. After the tours, you will have free time for lunch, exploration, etc.

Return to the hotel to rest prior to friendly match #2 vs Italian team.

April 2- Heart of Rome Walking Tour

Today we will start our exploration at the iconic Trevi Fountain, where you can toss a coin to ensure your return to Rome. From there, stroll through charming alleyways to reach the magnificent Pantheon, an ancient temple turned church, showcasing its remarkable dome and oculus. Continue your walk to Piazza Navona, adorned with stunning Baroque fountains and surrounded by elegant cafes and street performers, offering the perfect spot to unwind and soak in the beauty of Rome. Finally, conclude your journey at Campo di Fiore, a bustling square known for its lively market, where you can sample local delicacies and browse artisanal goods.

Time for lunch, free time for shopping, etc.

April 3 - Naples & Friendly Match #3

Morning departure from the hotel to travel south to Naples. We will visit the historic city-center on a guided walking tour, taking in the city's vibrant streets, iconic landmarks, and rich cultural heritage. Free time for lunch and exploration. In the evening, we will have a friendly match #3 vs local Italian team.

April 4 - Pompeii Visit

This morning, we will check out of the hotel and travel to Pompeii for a guided tour. The tour will offer a captivating journey back in time to the ancient Roman city frozen in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Exploring Pompeii provides a profound insight into Roman civilization, architecture, and urban planning, making it an unforgettable archaeological marvel and a testament to the power of nature's fury.

Lunch then last day free time for exploration, shopping, etc.

In the evening we will attend a Serie A match Napoli vs. AC Milan at the historic Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

April 5 - Travel Home

Depart from Napoli Airport NAP to fly back to JFK.

What’s Included

Airfare

Round trip airfare, including taxes, fuel surcharges, and fees (package w/o flights available if you would prefer to purchase your own airfare).

Accommodation each night at group-friendly properties in double or triple occupancy.

Guided Tours/Activities

All guided tours/activities (including entrance fees) to cultural/historic sites, adventures, and other points of interest as listed are included throughout the tour.

Sports Expenses

All sport related expenses (sport facilities, referees, and other associated costs).

Ground Transportation

All ground transportation costs upon arrival (including fuel surcharges, tolls, and parking).

Trip Leader Services

Full-time Trip Leaders assigned to your group for the duration of the trip and available to answer questions, handle emergencies, etc.

Two Meals a Day

Breakfast at your hotel each day, and a either lunch or dinner each day are included.
